The Bluff on Bay Street in is an absolute gem in downtown Beaufort. Almost every house on this street is historically important with the oldest being over 300 years old. These homes set the standard for the “Beaufort style” of architecture that has captivated visitors for centuries. Across from these historic mansions are large oak trees, full of spanish-moss that partially obstruct a view of the Beaufort River. Any time I rode my bike or drove my car down this stretch of road I have always disregarded the mansions and instead focused on the natural beauty of the river. Occasionally I would walk down the bluff, where the bluff acts as a wall, blocking the outside world behind you and bringing more focus to the river. One day me and my cousin carried a trampoline piece by piece down these steps, so that we could build it and film a video. This photo was taken at the exact spot that we set the trampoline up at. A display of the perfect sunrise in Beaufort. The spanish moss and oak trees over the Beaufort River is a setting that will always be special to me and it was complemented perfectly by the incredible sunrise on this particular morning.
