When I was in high school, most of my closest friends lived in Bluffton. This meant that almost every weekend I would be in Bluffton, exploring all it has to offer. The Church Church of the Cross at the end of Calhoun Street (particularly the bluff that this image displays in the background) was one of me and my friend’s favorite places to go hang out and watch the sunset. I always viewed The Church of the Cross as Bluffton’s most important landmark and spent many hours going around the entire property to find a new and unique angle of the church. One of the days when I was doing this, I began photographing the surrounding features of the church. Upon taking this photograph, I immediately knew it would in the series. I had just purchased and read my first Fine Art Photography book (Vanishing Points by Michael Sherwin) and was highly influenced by his style of photography. I was accompanied by one of my friends who I have already mentioned on the day that I captured this photograph. Being with someone who I shared the experiences that I was recapturing made the process even more pertinent.
